Managing Your Business

How do I change my Business avatar and banner image?
  1. Go to “Settings” for your Business (in left sidebar).
  2. Choose “Profile Settings”.
  3. Click Choose File on whichever image you want to replace, then browse to the desired image file (.jpg, .png, .gif with a maximum file size of 2MB).
  4. Click Choose or Open in the file browser.
  5. Click “Save” to save the image.
How do I link Twitter to Sqwid for my Business?
  1. Go to “Settings” for your Business (in left sidebar).
  2. Choose “Connected Accounts” and click “Connect with Twitter”
  3. You will be redirected to Twitter’s website to authorize Sqwid. Once authenticated with Twitter, you will quickly be returned to EDIT USER PROFILE page where your linked Twitter handle will be listed in your profile.
How do I link Facebook to Sqwid for my Business?
  1. Go to “Settings” for your Business (in left sidebar).
  2. Choose “Connected Accounts” and click “Connect with Facebook”
  3. You will be redirected to Facebook’s website to authorize Sqwid. Once authenticated with Facebook, you will quickly be returned to EDIT USER PROFILE page where your linked Facebook account will be listed in your profile.
  4. Choose which Facebook page you want to use with this Sqwid Business profile.
How can I get more Twitter results in my Twitter Activity?
Sqwid leverages Twitter’s advanced search features to populate your Twitter activity. By default, it searches on your Twitter user name. If your Twitter account is not very active, very few Tweets or none at all will show up. You may do a custom search, and also access your Twitter saved searches from within Sqwid.

How do I add other Sqwid users to help manage my Business?
  1. Go to your Business settings.
  2. Choose Managers.
  3. Enter names and email addresses. If the email address matches a Sqwid user, they will receive an email inviting them to manage the business. If a Sqwid user with that email address doesn’t exist, it will create a new one and send them an email.

Rewards

What is the difference between a Personal Reward, a Group Reward, and a Reward Template?
Personal Reward- A reward that can be used once and is often assigned to a specific Twitter user account, Facebook user account, or email address.Group Reward (formerly called “Social Rewards”) – A reward that can be used multiple times, limited by the “Max Uses” setting. Each time one of your customers uses the link to the Group Reward, Sqwid creates a Personal Reward based on the Group Reward for that customer only. Customers can only grab one instance of a Group Reward. In other words, a Group Reward is like a definition of a reward that Sqwid will give out however many times you desire. Once all of the max uses have been taken, customers will not be able to grab any more and the Group Reward will show a status of “maxed out”.

Reward Template – Create reward templates when you know that you’ll be sending a lot of similar rewards. So instead of creating several rewards and typing in the same information and uploading an image every time, you can just choose from existing templates.

How do I create a new Personal Reward?
There are several ways to create a new Personal Reward.

  1. Click New Reward
    1. A new reward form will appear. Enter a Title, Description, Expiration Dates, Notes, and Terms; or use a template by clicking Use Template button then choose the desired template from the drop down menu by clicking “Use”.
    2. Click Next.
    3. Reward image form will appear. Choose an image or do nothing to accept the default gift image. Click “Save & Close” or “Save & Share” if you are ready to assign it to someone and send it to them.
    4. If sharing, choose a recipient (Facebook only available if creating from a Facebook post), and compose a message. Then click “Assign and Send Message” and the message will be Tweeted, posted on FB or emailed to the assignee. If you’re not ready to share yet, you can just click “Just assign it” and deal with it later.
  2. On your Twitter or Facebook activity feeds, click the “gift box” icon on one of the Tweets or posts. Follow the steps listed above to complete the process.
  3. Go to your Business settings and click “Reward Templates”. Choose a template and click “Use”. Then follow the steps above to complete the process.
How will I know the status of a Reward? For example, when someone grabs or uses the Reward?
You will receive an email notification for many activities related to Rewards, and you can also see the status in the Reward’s Story view (“available”, “grabbed”, “used”, “expired”)
How do I create a new Group Reward?
  1. Click New Group Reward.
  2. A new reward form will appear. Enter a Title, Description, Expiration Dates, Notes, Terms and Max Uses; or use a template by clicking Use Template button then choose the desired template from the drop down menu by clicking “Use”.
  3. Click Next.

How will I know when my Group Reward has reached its max?
You will receive an email once a Group Reward has maxed out! You don’t have to do anything!
How do I create a new Reward Template?
From your Business settings page, choose “Reward Templates”, then click “New Template”.

You may create a Template from an existing Reward. To do this, simply click Save as Template button from the Reward detail within its parent Story.

I have created a Reward Template. How do I use that template for an Personal or Group Reward?
There are two ways to use a Reward Template to create a new Personal or Group Reward

  1. When creating a new Reward, click “Use Template” at the top of the reward form and then click “Use” on the template you desire.
  2. Go to your Reward Templates listing and click “Use” on your desired template. (This will automatically create a Personal Reward. At this time, you can’t create a Group Reward from this screen.)
How do my Customers use the Rewards?
After you share a Reward with one of your Customers, they can grab the reward (claim it) so they will have it available the next time they are in your store or restaurant. When a Customer arrives at your location, they can pull up the Reward on their smartphone by tapping the “My Rewards” link in Sqwid and then locating the Reward. To use the Reward (redeem it), you will have to type in your Business’s redemption code (“sqwid” by default, change this in your Business’s “Reward Settings” next time you edit your profile). Now the Reward will marked as “used” or “unavailable” in the system to ensure it won’t be used again. If your Customer doesn’t have a smartphone, you may look them up in your “Customers” view by searching on their name or email address. You can locate the Reward by clicking on their number of Rewards link, and then use it (redeem it) by clicking “Use it!” and entering your redemption code.

Stories

What is a Story?
Stories are the most powerful feature of Sqwid. A Story is a way to capture gratitude, complaints, issues, or ideas from your customers and staff. It provides a place where you can have discussion with other users on Sqwid who help manage your Business profile, and it often serves as the basis for creating a Reward (or comp) to share with a customer. The Story view keeps track of all activity related to the Story including user comments, image, links and activity on its related Personal or Group Reward.
How do I create a new Story?
There are several ways to create a new Story.

  1. Click New Story and fill out the Title and make a comment, including images and links if applicable.
  2. On your Twitter or Facebook activity feeds, click “Sqwid it!” on one of the Tweets or posts. A new Story will be created and the relevant Tweet or post will be attached to the Story and displayed in the next view.
  3. Create a new Reward. This will automatically create a new Story and attach the Reward to it.
  4. On your Twitter or Facebook activity feeds, click the “gift box” icon on one of the Tweets or posts. You will be presented a new Reward form. Once you have created the Reward, a new Story will be created as well and the relevant Tweet or post and Reward will be attached to the Story and displayed in the next view.
How do I communicate with other users on one of my Stories?
First, you need to invite other Sqwid users to be managers of your Business account – learn how here. Once there are other users managing your Business, you will see an “add user” button near your user avatar in the “Participating Users” section of the Story page. Click this button and choose all users you want to add. After they have joined your Business, they will be able to receive notifications of new comments and activity on Stories they participate on.
How do I know when there is activity on one of my Stories?
You can either log in to Sqwid and look at your Recent Activity or Stories views, or you can rely on emails that Sqwid will send you when new activity happens.

Customer Users

I tried to grab a Reward but it says it’s not available anymore. What can I do?
If the Reward wasn’t assigned directly to you, someone else beat you to it, or in the case of a Group Reward, they have probably all been grabbed already as there are usually a limited number of them available. Additionally, Rewards have an expiration date and you may have missed it.
I have never grabbed a Sqwid Reward. Do I need to create an account?
Yes! If you have clicked on a Sqwid Reward link that you received from a Business, you will see a summary of the Reward and a “Grab it!” button if it is still available. Clicking this button will bring you to the sign-in form. If you don’t have an account already, click “Sign up now” to create a new account.
Ok, I grabbed a Reward. Now what do I do?
When you are ready to use your Reward (redeem it), locate your Reward again by logging into Sqwid on your phone or other mobile device and tapping the “My Rewards” link. Then go to the business and show them the Reward (you must be connected to the internet to use a Reward). In order to use the Reward, a representative of the business will have to type in the Business’s redemption code into your mobile device. If you don’t have a smartphone – don’t worry, the business may look the Reward up in their Sqwid account and use it (redeem it) for you.
How do I cancel my account?
Deleting your Sqwid user account is easy. Keep in mind there is no way to undo this. You will lose any Rewards that you haven’t used yet.

  1. Click the Settings link at the top of the screen near your user avatar
  2. Near the bottom of the screen you will see an “Unhappy with your account?” message. Click “Cancel account”.
  3. If you are sure you want to cancel your account, simply click the OK button.

You will be logged out and returned to the Sqwid home page.
